Welcome to the second month of Pokespe! We are very excited to jump into October and we hope that you'll enjoy what we have planned. Please read these announcements carefully. As this is our first month, we will be having a general feedback/HMD in the commentson your thoughts on the game so far! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask them also in the comments.

⬥ As a reminder, October will be a no-plot month. This means that players can take a break and wind down from investigations. During these no-plot months, there will be a higher focus on building CR, but there will still be a few investigations ongoing for those who want to dig deeper and gather hints towards the overall plot; it just won't be anything too heavy such as the on-plot months.

⬥ Starting from today, Pokespe has increased its player cap to 30. As a reminder, players each have one invite and when they use it, they must comment underneath their invitee's application to confirm that the +1 was indeed intended for that person.

⬥ Also starting from today, the character cap per player has increased to three. Players may app in a third character, but only after they have passed one round of AC.

⬥ Character tags have now been added to the main community (pokespe). Please ensure that you use your character's tag whenever you comment on an entry.

⬥ The calendar for October is as follows:

10/01 - Game feedback
10/03 - Event log #1 is posted
10/15 - Event log #2 is posted
10/31 - Activity Check closes

→ SETTING CHANGES

The following characters have been dropped from the game with the following statuses:

Jiro Azuma (cicadashell) ⬥ Dead
Kai (insidiousness) ⬥ Dead
Mammon (pelf) ⬥ Missing

These characters will be briefly mentioned in the first event log to confirm their statuses in-game.

In addition, these are the following changes within the setting:

⬥ With the case of the Drifloons being solved, all the missing children have been returned to their parents and the rumours about the balloon Pokemon being evil child-snatchers have been put to rest. They now roam around Toran peacefully and the townspeople are beginning to warm up to them.

⬥ With the case of the Murkrows being solved, they are now welcomed into the hospital with open windows. They play with the patients and often befriend whomever they can find. They are no longer chased away from the building and are even considered as good luck.

⬥ With the case of the boba zombies being solved, nothing... has changed. Nearly all of the townspeople already knew that the zombies were nothing but just sugar-crashed dummies, which is why they just ignored them. However, with the insistence of Efi and Fai, a few of them will be moved either to the hospital or Pokemon Center.

⬥ The Pokemon offered at the Game Corner will be swapped on the first of October. Mudkips will no longer be available and will be replaced with an Onix. This Onix's special move is that it already knows Dig.

→ OCTOBER 3 - WELCOME TO MANGO CITY

For those who choose to leave Toran and travel through the raging waters, they will eventually make their way to Mango City, but only after a few rough nights through a dense forest. Assuming that no one wanders off or dies during their fun camping trip, Mango City will offer trainers a new environment where they can enjoy themselves. Some notable locations and things that everyone can do and enjoy:

⬥ Pokemon Gym: welcome to your first gym! Trainers may attempt to challenge the leader inside and receive a badge to show off their strength. More information will be shared when the log goes up, but as a sneak peek, the gym type is Steel and bonding with the leader may be a good way to get a powerful ally on your side. Though it may be ironic if you somehow made them the villain instead, haha.

⬥ Pokemon Contest: if your character isn't the type to duke it out, then head on over to the contest hall to show off your beautiful Pokemon! The hall will be holding normal rank competitions for Coolness, Beauty, and Cuteness. Winners will get a ribbon and maybe even a little gift from their fans!

⬥ Bug Catching Contest: every Sunday, a contest is held that awards trainers for catching the largest or heaviest bug-type Pokemon within a two-hour window. Winners will be randomly chosen and given a prize. Characters may choose to either keep or release their bug-type Pokemon at the end of the contest.

⬥ Boba Shop: there's a new boba shop!! Stop by to get your card stamped. Luckily, there are no boba zombies in Mango City and that's because they don't overdose their drinks with a ton of sugar.

⬥ Pokemon Towers: located directly next to each other, there is a tower for radio and another tower for a cemetery. For the former, they've been in some serious trouble as there hasn't been any phone or radio signal for the past two months. They can't figure out what's happening and they're on the edge of bankruptcy if they can't get back on the air. For the latter, it's a solemn resting ground for both Pokemon and trainers. The townspeople often come to visit and pay their respects. A faint static is heard in the air.

⬥ Severe Sandstorm: continuing north and past Mango City, characters will reach the sea; to the east, the forest and eventually sea once more; and to the west, a sandstorm that makes further progress impossible. The townspeople say that it's been like that since August and although sandstorms are common in that area, they have never lasted this long before.

→ OCTOBER 15 - SPOOKY SCARY SKELETONS

If you thought we wouldn't have a Halloween event then you clearly don't know us.

Unfortunately, we cannot give away too many details without spoiling the entire event, but a strange occurrence will cause all the ghost and physic-types will go on a rampage. The mad Pokemon will cause both humans and other Pokemon to turn on each other, bring their worst fears to life, and send them into neverending nightmares. If characters band together to try and solve the origins of the sudden changes in behaviour and put a stop to the incident, they will discover a few clues that will give further inside into the plot. If they fail, well... they can just experience their trauma over and over again until a more competent group comes along.

First of all, I'm sorry about disappearing in the second half of September, but things got busy irl. If anyone wants to handwave any September threads to figure out the conclusion, I'm down! I'm gonna stick to one character here not to spread myself too thin and maybe actually take part in investigations because they seem really fun.

Beato had a rough time in September after making that terrible decision to send Misdreavus out to battle Gyarados, oops. Unsurprisingly, her Pokemon still isn't really over what happened even though Beato tries to be nice to her. Beato willl be hanging around people more in October. It's the best month of the year for the witches, after all. I got some fun bonus effects for her last month and I would like to do something with these before they expire:

1) Beatrice swaps bodies with someone for an entire week.
2) Beatrice can now read minds for one full day.
3) Beatrice's personality does a 180 degree flip for an entire day.

Since 1 and 2 require some plotting beforehand, but I'm open to all things so hit me up if you're interested! 3 will definitely happen in the 10/3 log.

I'm planning to have Beato try to reach Mango City. She'd probably travel alone, but that wouldn't stop her from spooking groups of people in the forest even before they arrive in the city. She'll try to take on the Pokemon Gym most likely, but with Misdreavus not being super fond of her, this is probably going to be a disaster. I want her to obtain a butterfly-like Pokemon and a Bug Catching Contest seem like a good occasion, so she'll be taking part in that as well. Also all the spooky things like Pokemon Towers and the 10/15 log...your favorite witch will be there 👀
